I've known Mark Burton for a while but only through email and as a customer looking for exotic materials. I had not seen his flies before now. I was more than a little impressed.
Mark was kind enough to supply a short bio, he closes by saying "I love this hobby", I would say that's obvious. It's as follows:

"Originating in central California, I moved to the Seattle area in the early 1980?s. I currently reside in Edmond's, WA operating an industrial equipment business. I started tying flies in the late 1980?s for my personal fly fishing needs. I utilized those flies for pursuing trout in local lakes, Sea run cutthroat in Puget Sound, and steelhead in Pacific Northwest rivers. My love of fly tying soon began to equal my love for fly fishing. It was during the mid-1990?s that my tying began to progress toward classic salmon fly tying. Today it consumes a large amount of my spare time; tying flies, pursuing materials, and exhibiting my work in local art shows. I enjoy tying not only the classic patterns but like to experiment with my own creations. There is an increasing number of talented tyers out there and all are inspiring and pushing others to exceed their capabilities. The ?Banshee? pattern was designed by my 10 year old son Max. I love this hobby! "

Mark was kind enough to present us with a little Holiday Spirit: "I?ve attached three different images of a fly I named "Yuletide". Each displays a different phase in the tying progress of the fly."

Mark has sent several new pictures of his stunning original (Shannon excepted) patterns below:
