My Mom doesn’t exactly fit the criteria of a Fly Tying Friend. She did however draw the Popham (Kelson Style) I use in my logo. I guess one could say she is the person that made FeathersMc possible. She died on June 29 2006. A copy of her obituary appears below. There is one correction that needs to be made. Even though we paid $105 for this to be published, they for whatever reason edited one small section. It should read “had great legs and baked a mean apple pie." My sister, Lisa, wrote it the way we wanted it but it wasn’t published that way.
Thirteen years ago my Mom was diagnosed as having stage 4 metastasized ovarian cancer and was basically written off. My little sister, Lisa, decided it wasn’t going to be that way at all. Not fitting for the Viking Warrior she was. So the two of them waged a battle against all odds and won 13 years of high quality life. Enjoyable and cancer free for a great portion of it, that she unquestionably would have been denied, had it not been for Lisa. One of Mom's highlights in her last years besides her daughter, was her dog Honey. Honey didn't get mentioned in the obit but should have been.
My Big brother Bruce, now the Clan Chief has prepared a beautiful eulogy for Mom. If you care to read it and I hope you do, please click HERE
