MATERIALS: Tools

Norm Hyams used a few tools to tie this fly. The main tool he used was Mike Radencich's DVD on Tying The Jock Scott. Nice job Norm.
The tools we use today are few but important. Nineteenth Century Masters often used only scissors and a needle. The level of perfection we seek today requires us to be a little less spartan. The tools offered here are rarely found in fly shops but I consider them essential aids in tying Classic Salmon Flies.

Mike Radencich's 2 DVD Set TYING THE CLASSIC SALMON FLY. A tool for success. See Fly above.
Floss Burnisher. A simple but effective tool used to smooth out floss bodies.
Needle Nose Pliers. Required to crimp the rachis of some feathers. Tiny flat jaws also make great hook de-barbing pliers for your trout flies. Always pinch the bard down before you tie the fly.
Extremely fine, sharp, Scissors allows for incredibly precise cuts. These may be the best bang for the buck item I offer.
They may not seem like tools but I also offer Kori Bustard SSP Merchandise on site now to make it easier for you to buy. I hadn't planned on selling that stuff when I designed this site so I have no real category other than here. My Kori section is not connected to the shopping cart system and my webmaster now resides in Fiji. This will have to do.
